Virginia Personal Property Appraisals

An appraisal is a determination of value for a specific purpose, and as of a particular date. Appraisals may be undertaken for a variety of purposes – there are different values which may be ascertained, depending on the purpose of the assignment (Fair Market, Market, Replacement, Liquidation or Scrap Value). You will advise us as to your intended use for the appraisal, such as insurance coverage, property division, estate planning, or charitable contribution.
We provide quality appraisals for your antiques, decorative arts and personal property, compliant with the Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice (USPAP). These standards were established by the federal government in 1987, and The Appraisal Foundation endorses USPAP as representing the generally accepted and recognized standards of appraisal practice in the United States. We assure you that all our work is independent, impartial and objective, without bias or advocacy.
Appraisal and consulting fees are determined by the time required to inspect, measure and photograph the items of personal property; research comparable items and provenance; undertake the analysis; and prepare the appraisal report. Fees are never based on a percentage of the value of the items, nor are they contingent on a pre-determined outcome of value.
"Pam's help was invaluable in assisting me in pricing my office furniture and contents for sale -- in fact, I was able to sell the goods for more than I anticipated!"

"I never knew the exact value of our furnishings. Pam Mandel was able to research all our items, even those acquired abroad. I was pleasantly surprised at how the value had increased over the years. Ms. Mandel is very meticulous and pricise in her research. I highly recommend her for any approasal needs!"
